We are starting a fundraiser to travel to Washington, D.C., to meet with the Commission on International Religious Freedom, as well as with Senators and Congressmen, to advocate for the protection of evangelical Christians from the former USSR who refuse to take the oath in the armed forces or join the army. Donations will be directed to the non-profit organization ARRC.
Urgently, since June 23, we submitted an application to the USCIRF, the Commission on International Religious Freedom, and the Department of State to address the issues facing refugees from the former USSR. After a twelve-year hiatus, the Christian human rights organization ARRC, which has existed for 25 years, is resuming its activities representing the interests of emigrants from the former USSR before the U.S. Congress, the Department of State, and the Presidential Administration.
Our work covers a range of issues, from U4U and CBP One to refugee status under the Lautenberg Amendment. Our goal is to secure a quota for those in the United States to prevent deportation and achieve legalization under TPS, restore quotas for religious refugees, and collect information on the state of religion in the territory of the former USSR.
